Education The Kentucky Herpetological Society is dedicated to educating people about reptiles and amphibians. Our commitment to education is rooted in our monthly meetings where we bring in a specialist to give us a presentation about their involvement with herps each and every month. Over the course of the year it is common for our members to be given the opportunities to learn about diverse subjects ranging from local salamander species to vipers living in Africa, to how one might begin a tropical frog breeding project. In addition to our in-house educational programs, many KHS members provide educational presentations to a wide variety of groups including scouts, schools, churches, other herp societies, and national conferences. Our diverse group of members give presentations that range in topics from native snake populations dynamics, to breeding boa constrictors, to just an introduction to herps 101. If you want to learn more about herps, our monthly meetings are the place to be! If you have an interest in giving an educational presentation please contact an officer. The KHS is always in need of funds to be used to help cover the costs of providing educational opportunities for our membership and for the public at large, all donations are tax-deductible. If you would like to help our educational efforts by contributing to our Education Fund, please contact an officer. All proceeds go directly towards paying the expenses that we incur in our educational efforts. Thanks!
